Northerner Tang Deren, a real estate dealer, is highly prejudiced against the Cantonese. He objects to his daughter’s relationship with Cantonese school teacher, Jian Liang. When he finds out that Ms. Jian Lanhua, a wealthy woman from the United States is actually Jian Liang’s aunt. Tang encourages his daughter’s relationship with him. Ms Jian’s flight is delayed. Jian Liang persuades his friend Lin, a funny fellow to disguise himself as his aunt. At a beach party to welcome her, Tang decides to propose to ‘Ms Jian’.
