An Exclusive Thai Drama Distribution Agreement Signed Between BEC World PLC And Media Company, I.E. Entertainment Pte. Ltd.

Bangkok, December 19, 2022BEC World PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of its international distribution agreement with I.E. Entertainment Pte. Ltd., fronted by two regional industry veterans, Indra Suharjono and Erlina Suharjono. BEC World’s original Thai dramas, produced by its various production houses and BEC Studio worldwide (excluding Thailand), will be officially distributed immediately.

“There’s a substantial share of revenue growth for BEC internationally since 2018.  We have licensed over 6,209 hours of Thai dramas across Asia, Latin America, and Africa, with better-than-expected performance in South East Asian markets. We hope to enter new markets through this new partnership with IE Entertainment,” says Mr. Surin Krittayaphongphun, President and Director of BEC World. 

The Suharjono sisters are veterans in the Asian media and entertainment industry, each with over 30 years of experience. Erlina’s wealth of experience in the motion picture business complements Indra’s in media entertainment and franchise management. Indra also has a strong track record of distributing Thai content beyond its shores for the last four years, as she represents JKN Global Group. Mr. Krittayaphongphun said, “We believe in the Suharjono sisters’ extensive knowledge, expertise, and networks in bringing Thai content beyond Asia, with IE as our exclusive distribution partner outside of Thailand, with CLMV and Greater China being non-exclusive.” He added, “This is a move to strengthen BEC World’s global position as a leading entertainment company.”

Indra and Erlina Suharjono said, “We are honored to add BEC World’s high-quality content across all genres to IE’s portfolio.  Thai dramas will go from strength to strength outside Thailand across all platforms.  The appetite for Thai content in Asia is growing, and IE welcomes the opportunity to be at the forefront of this global trend.”

At the recent Asia TV Forum (ATF) 2022, IE has concluded deals for “Love Destiny 1” with PTS in Taiwan, and “Repercussion,” “My Forever Sunshine,” and “Love & Deception” with StarTimes in Africa.  Deals in negotiation include 2023 titles – “Love Destiny 2,” “Royal Doctor,” “To the Moon and Back,” “Love at First Night,” “Doctor Detective,” and “The Betrayal” (remake of Dr. Forster).

About Indra Suharjono


Indra Suharjono embarked on her media and entertainment career journey with Time Warner, where she spent 12 years holding senior management positions in Warner Bros. Pictures International and Turner Entertainment Networks Asia. From 2005, she spent the next decade with Viacom International Media Networks as the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Asia. With a channel portfolio including MTV, MTV Live, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central under her charge, Indra had extensive branded consumer products, content sales, and digital media achievements under her belt. She was also the executive producer for the MTV World Stage global franchise in Asia and repositioned the MTV Video Music Awards 2009 in Japan. 

Indra served as CEO of Next Animation Studio (NAS) from 2015-2018, responsible for driving and delivering the company’s growth plans and establishing NAS as the premier animation studio in Asia. Indra has been the Senior Media Advisor to JKN Global Media PLC, Thailand, since 2019. Through her strong leadership, she advises JKN Global on repositioning strategies to distribute Thai dramas internationally and identify partnership opportunities for JKN Originals.  She was also the executive producer of “Project Runway Thailand” in 2022.

Beyond her experience, Indra’s passion for entertainment is evident as she sits on the board of directors for Cathay Organization Holdings, a leading company headquartered in Singapore, engaged in the businesses of entertainment, leisure, lifestyle, and property management services.

About Erlina Suharjono


Erlina Suharjono’s 30-year entertainment and media career spanned across Cathay Organization and Warner Bros. Pictures International (WBPI). At Cathay, Erlina held multiple roles as Vice President and General Manager of the Singapore entertainment division. In the 24 years spent at Warner Bros. Pictures International, Erlina led continued strategic growth and management of WBPI’s marketing and distribution operations throughout Asia, including China, a challenging market in both censorship and limited film quota. As the Executive Vice President of Asia Distribution and Managing Director of China and Hong Kong, Erlina held a supervisory role for all Asian offices, marketing, distribution, and localization for the studio’s theatrical products.

Erlina was honored with the “2015 Cinemacon Passepartout Award”, playing a pivotal role in expanding the moviegoing experience in Asia. She was also awarded “2007 Distributor of the Year” by CineAsia. Beyond studio operations, Erlina oversaw all distribution and marketing activities by the Studio’s network of affiliate offices and licensees in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. Formulating release strategies and regional marketing campaigns, including media, research, publicity, and promotional activities, were some of her core responsibilities. She acquired local Asian films, assessed new markets for the strategic realignment of Warner Bros. businesses in Asia, and oversaw licensing of Warner Bros. Pictures’ theatrical rights to Cambodia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.
