Mavin’s childhood was not like that of any other child, for it was marked by violence and commotion at home. The fear of living with an abusive father is still vivid in Mavin’s memory. Mavin wants nothing more than to leave home and never look back. But his mother, Malai, longs to return, even as he takes her to the domestic violence shelter that could save her from her miserable life. Through the love and care of social worker Plaifon, Mavin slowly begins to heal and bond with her. But when Malai suddenly dies and his father blames him for her death, Mavin’s world turns grey and he is lost. Plaifon is the only support he can lean on. 

When he sees Plaifon escorting a child victim to court, he is inspired by her devotion and begins to fall in love with her. Plaifon also sees Mavin through different eyes…he has become a kind and caring person who makes her laugh and feel beautiful and wanted – she hasn’t felt this way in years. But when Plaifon learns of Mavin’s feelings for her, she knows that love can give and take everything from a person and leave a long trail of regret. She decides it would be best for Mavin to put out the fire before it’s too late, despite her feelings for him. 

Seven years have passed, and Mavin is now an honorary prosecutor at the Foundation. Can Mavin ever forgive Plaifon for rejecting and abandoning him? Can they ever put their past behind them?
